Police are asking the public to help them track down a murder suspect who shot a 62-year-old man in the head at a shopping centre in Philippi.
|||Cape Town – Cape Town police are asking for the public’s assistance to help them track down a murder suspect who shot a 62-year-old man in the head at a shopping centre in Browns Farm, Philippi.
In a statement released on Wednesday, police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk said the man was murdered at a shopping centre in Monwood Drive in broad daylight.
“It is alleged people heard gunshots and saw the victim lying next to his vehicle with a gunshot wound to his head,” Van Wyk said.
The motive for the murder was not known.
In another incident, Nyanga police have called on the public to help them track down an attempted murder suspect.
Three men, one of whom was armed, tried to rob a man at his Ntlango Crescent home in Nyanga after he had withdrawn cash from a bank in Gugulethu.
“One suspect fired shots at the complainant and missed, the complainant retaliated injuring one suspect in the arm and the second one was fatally wounded inside a white Toyota vehicle they were using. The injured suspect and the third one fled the scene”.
