|||Johannesburg – A woman was killed and four other people were critically injured when the car they were travelling in left the road and rolled on the R114 between Beyers Naude and Malibongwe in Muldersdrift, Gauteng, early on Saturday morning, paramedics said.
ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring said paramedics arrived on the scene and found the car upright some distance off the main road. Two men and two woman were found lying a short distance away from the car, while a fifth person was found inside the car.
“On assessment, paramedics found that one woman, lying outside the vehicle, had sustained numerous, fatal injuries. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for the patient and she was declared dead. The four other patients were assessed and found to be in a critical condition.”
Paramedics began their treatment and initiated advanced life support interventions before the patients were transported to Laratong Provincial Hospital for further treatment.
It was understood that the driver lost control of the car, causing it to roll multiple times. Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations, Meiring said.
