Eight people died in road accidents on KwaZulu-Natal’s roads over the month-end weekend.
|||Durban - A woman was struck and killed by a car on the M13 in Pinetown at about 5.45am on Monday as she tried to cross the road.
According to ER24 spokesman, Russel Meiring, paramedics found the woman lying in the centre median.
“Paramedics assessed the patient and found she had sustained fatal injuries. She was declared dead on the scene,” Meiring said.
He said the male driver of the car escaped injury.
On Sunday, a 14-year-old boy died and four others were injured when their vehicle rolled on the M1 in Chatsworth. Meiring said the SUV went down an embankment.
In a taxi and car collision on Sunday on the R103 in Tweedie, three people were killed and seven injured.
On Saturday, three people were killed and four injured in a collision at the corner of Wiltshire and Hans Dettman roads, Rescue Care Paramedics spokesman, Garrith Jamieson, said.
