|||Cape Town - A video of a white man in a bakkie intentionally knocking down a black pizza delivery man on a motorcycle has sparked outrage.
In the video the man uses foul language while speaking in Afrikaans and states that he is waiting for the robot to go green then one “pizza k****r” will be hitting the tar.
The video, which has gone viral on social media, was discovered on Facebook with a comment that read: “I watched this‚ I couldn't believe what I'm watching‚ its clearly a 2 way turn‚ you intentionally knock someone off his motorcycle and still drive way‚ let alone the ignorance to record it! Disgusting piece of ****.”
According to The Herald’s website the video was recently filmed in Port Elizabeth.
TimesLive reports that Famous Brands‚ which owns Debonairs Pizza‚ has confirmed that the delivery man in the video was a Debonairs Pizza employee.
“As soon as the facts have been finalised our franchisee will lay the appropriate criminal charges against the driver of the motor vehicle‚” the company was quoted as saying.
The DA leader in the Eastern Cape, Athol Trollip, also tweeted: “This is horrific. I will be opening a case against the suspect with police, as well as with the @SAHRCommission.”
