Durban police are mourning the loss of a KwaMashu officer killed in a high-speed crash at the weekend.

The accident happened on the M19 highway, in Westville, at about 4pm on Friday.
Warrant Officer Solomon Mbele was on duty at the time.
Crisis Medical’s Kyle van Reenen said paramedics arrived on scene and found a police car had collided at high speed with a stationary road maintenance vehicle.
Mbele, in his thirties, was the only one in the car at the time.
He was found trapped in the badly wrecked vehicle, Van Reenen said.
Police spokesman, Major Thulani Zwane - who had worked with Mbele - said the warrant officer was a dedicated and committed member of the police, who loved his job.
A case of culpable homicide was being investigated.
