Two of three suspected robbers died when Maake residents attacked them for allegedly robbing a local supermarket.
|||Johannesburg – Two of three suspected robbers were killed after residents of Maake village attacked them for allegedly robbing a local supermarket on Friday, Limpopo police said.
“They were allegedly in a process of robbing a supermarket owner when he called for help, alerting the community. They came to assist him and the suspects were overpowered, and two stoned to death. The third suspect managed to escape, we are still tracing him,” said spokesperson Colonel Ronel Otto.
“We appeal for community members with information about the incident to assist the police with the investigation,” she said.
No arrests have been made and police continued to search for two firearms allegedly carried by the three men.
